Capture The Flag (CTF)
CTF (Capture The Flag) is a kind of cybersecurity competition.
In the Capture The Flag competition participants are challenged to solve various problems, ranging from scavenging on Wikipedia to basic programming exercises and hacking a server to steal data.
In these tasks, the participant is usually asked to find a specific piece of text that may be hidden on the server or behind a web page. This target is called the flag, hence the name! As with many competitions, the CTF qualification level varies depending on the tournament.
Some of them are intended for professionals with a background in cybersecurity teams. They usually offer large cash rewards and can be held at a specific physical location.
